We would first like to thank you for your support as we embrace our 7th season. But as of right now, and until further notice, Boston Segway Tours is closed.
No worries, we have every intention of reopening again as soon as possible.
One issue we are running into is between shutdowns forced by the government and a lack of financial aid to make up for our losses, it has created some serious hurdles for us to overcome.
The tourism industry in Boston has been deemed as non-essential, being the last type of business that was permitted to open again. To boot, we received little financial support.
Just like everyone else, we had all hoped the pandemic would only disrupt our 2020 season. But unfortunately, we are heading into what seems will be another very challenging year.
With the new strain of COVID (that is 50% more transmittable) recently making it's way into Boston, along with our country struggling to distribute the vaccine, it creates a scenario full of uncertainty for the tourism industry.
Another thing to keep in mind, is that our type of industry in our specific location has a limited time frame to operate. In other words, we are a seasonal business that only makes sense to be open during certain months in the year.
THE GOOD NEWS? Cases have been trending downwards and if they continue to do so, we are even more likely to open again this year.
As of right now, no definitive decisions have been made. But with the way things are looking, if we do open, it will be for a shorter time frame than we normally do (most likely the warmest months where sales are at it's peak, possibly June - September).
We will continue to keep you informed as we learn more,
so please revisit this page while we will post updates as they come in.
We would like to sincerely thank you for your interest in joining us in 2021 on Boston's #1 tour, and hope you do come back when the time is right.
